Open Case was founded by two passionate college students, Tim Metcalf and Sofia Tabet, who recognized a growing need for accessible legal support. They believe that financial limitations should never prevent individuals from seeking justice. With a shared vision of making legal aid accessible to everyone, Open Case connects people with pro bono lawyers ready to take on impactful cases.
As students themselves, Sofia and Tim understand the struggles many face when trying to navigate the complexities of legal systems, especially when resources are limited. With Open Case, they are dedicated to ensuring that everyone—regardless of financial standing—can be heard and supported by qualified legal professionals.
Meet the Team
Tim Metcalf -
I grew up in Los Angeles, where I developed a deep interest in the complexities of justice and fairness from an early age. After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, I continued my journey at the University of California, Sacramento, where I studied Philosophy: Ethics, Law, and Politics. I’m passionate about understanding how these disciplines intersect to shape the world around us and how they can be used to help others, especially those in need of legal support.
Sofia Tabet -
I was fortunate to grow up in the vibrant landscapes of Sacramento and Mexico, where I developed a profound awareness of the struggles faced by individuals in financial distress seeking legal guidance. As a freshman at the University of California, I am inspired to create initiatives that support those in need. It is a privilege to embark on this journey, and I aspire to expand my impact, fostering positive change in communities worldwide.
